We raised £345 which is going towards our fund to makeover the chapel kitchen which needs an upgrade to smarten it up.
Those who had tickets braved the rain to come to our church and listen to our very own Whitacre Choir. They sang songs from the shows and there were plenty of opportunities to sing along. Wedding music was the first section closely followed by an amusing sketch. Then the much wanted songs from the shows and musicals section including solos such as "edelweiss" and "memories." "A spoonful of sugar" was a timely organised cue for the refreshment interval which included tea, coffee and biscuits. The second half contained a mixture of well known songs such as "moon river" and more solos followed, and even a poem, which led into the community signing section at the end which included some songs in rounds. The soloists were especially good and the hilarious three little lambs song making the audience laugh heartily.
We raised £345 which is going towards our fund to makeover the chapel kitchen which needs an upgrade to smarten it up. An opportunity tonight to meet our new minister who will take over from Derek at the end of August. Rev Mike Crockett came and had tea, biscuits and a chat giving us all time to get to know each other and discuss our church and area. A pleasant evening was passed with a good turnout and we hope that Mike and his wife felt welcomed and wanted.
This years serivce was taken and attended by both our current Minister Rev Derek Shaw and our previous incumbent Minister Rev James Pritchard. The joint service with Water Orton and Coleshill was led by both as we prepared for Good Friday and looked forward to the joy that is Easter. During Lent we have been collecting for Water Aid and have raised £25
