Remarkably busy turnout when many are away on holiday and we have raised £185 for Aquarius. A lovely sunny day, as we are used to, brought out some new faces and we filled extra tables in the end. Thanks to Margaret, Jackie and Jill for their help.

Being a bring and share it was a lovely way to join together even if the sharing was a little pre organised so we had a nice range of summer salads and sandwiches and afterwards some lovely pavlovas, cakes and sweet treats.]]><![CDATA[July coffee morning]]>Thu, 02 Jul 2026 18:05:35 GMThttp://whitacre.weebly.com/news/july-coffee-morning6566889£205 was raised for Fund for Human need (FHN) which is a small Methodist affiliated charity established in 1960 to relieve poverty and hunger by offering loans to individuals in need of financial support. We had a good number of people out today and celebrated Hazel’s 80th birthday with a cake made by Helen. Thanks to our hosts Carol, Jane and Jacky.

Many sent contributions and so with generous donations we collected £173.50 for our Methodist Church. Many thanks to those who came and to Sue, Malcolm, Chris, Colin and Val for serving up delicious homemade cakes with a smile!

The Easter lily flowers were on display which are paid for in memory of loved ones lost. Tea, coffee, cake and chat followed.

The cross was mounted after the service outside the chapel as a visible sign of the Resurrection.

A lovely sunny day brought out a lot of people and perhaps the school holidays helped boost numbers. The raffle had lots of prizes which all collected and the tea, coffee and cakes were superb. Many thanks to Pauline, Phil and Evelyn who hosted the event. Evelyn’s cakes and table decorations were much appreciated.
