A well attended quiz night with nine teams battling it out with Vince once again keeping us all in order. A undisguised "bribe" present was seen on the quiz masters table but this did not stop the winning team "still ain't got a clue" defying their name and taking top prize with a score of 65. The runners up question for to be best of the rest demanded how may people in the UK were there in 2024 who were over 100 years of age. With a relatively low number guess range from most teams the closest answer to the 16000 answer was 35000 but most teams thought much less than 100. However even at 16000 individuals this is only 0.02% of the population. A fantastic night, fed well with chips and enjoyed the fun of the quiz.

There were some cakes to celebrate a 50th birthday for Helen this week and an 80th birthday a little later on for her mum Hazel.

Some people were put off by the weather and others are still struck down with the winter flu bug but they gave money to support the charity and several of the ladies present have received treatment for this disease and know how important research is.

Our thanks to all the singers and the householders who supported us raising money for British Heart Foundation. A total of £822.44 will be sent off in the New Year to support this cause thank you.

However the readings and the carols were still completed along with accompanied by the choir who raised decants to most of the carols and sang their own selection of choir carols. Thanks to all our readers, Jackie, the choir and everyone involved with refreshments afterwards for a lovely service.
