Our grand total for our 2024 coffee mornings includes extra events for both MacMillan Cancer and Christian Aid and raised a total £2237.

Christian Aid

The Chapel continues to support the annual Christian Aid envelope scheme but the way the envelopes are collected and the money then counted post COVID makes it harder to get a total. We also hold an annual coffee morning in addition to our monthly ones - see above. However the totals continue to be generous in current climate. Many thanks to all those who contributed so generously to Christian Aid this year and to Station Stores and the local pubs who helped us with the ‘drop off’ locations.

Link to Hope (shoebox appeal)

As a church and community we have supported different shoebox appeals for a number of years with growing success and we are always looking for more shoebox donations and completed boxes.
In 2024 we sent off 28 shoe boxes to Link to Hope. Gideon took them to our area organisers in Erdington. They will be picked up from there and delivered to children and adults in Ukraine or nearby countries.
Many thanks to those who filled a box.  Find out more here

JMA (Junior Misson for All)

This is the young people's part of the Mission at home and abroad of the Methodist church. For many years we have supported this mission but it does depend on our young people who are now getting a little too old! The JMA promise is "I promise to learn, pray and serve with the world wide church of Jesus Christ."
We offer our thanks for collecting to £57.14 for 2023. We currently have about  seven collectors.

History Lesson

Do you remember these old collecting boxes? Nice aren't they.

We support a number of smaller charities - some over a long period and sometimes for a special short time. These are some of the main longer term charities we are supporting at the moment.

Water Aid for Lent

Most Lent periods over recent years we have supported Water Aid
In 2024 we raised £69 towards their work.

Spare Stamps

We collect stamps for the Leprosy Mission. It is hard to believe that a bunch of used stamps can help transform the life of someone affected by leprosy. But the fact is that it can! Over the past 30 years the Leprosy Mission has raised more than £1 million to benefit people affected by leprosy. Find out more here

Ring pulls

Picture
We have already sent several small batches off and but in 2019 we have delivered a larger collection. Each ring pull is worth the equivalent to 3p each. The people in the Philippines use them to make jewellery, purses, coasters and alike.
We continue to send packets of rings since our record year to help support the Purple Community Fund.
