Do come and support these mornings if you can - the next month eagerly expected event is always advertised in "Whats On" in the home page. More details about 2024 coffee mornings here |
Our grand total for our 2023 coffee mornings is still to be announced after the last one but is at least £1220 so far.
Christian AidThe Chapel continues to support the annual Christian Aid envelope scheme but the way the envelopes are collected and the money then counted post COVID makes it harder to get a total. However the totals continue to be generous in current climate. Many thanks to all those who contributed so generously to Christian Aid this year and to Station Stores and the local pubs who helped us with the ‘drop off’ locations.

Link to Hope (shoebox appeal)As a church and community we have supported different shoebox appeals for a number of years with growing success and we are always looking for more shoebox donations and completed boxes.
In 2023 we sent off 18 shoe boxes to Link to Hope. Gideon took them to our area organisers in Erdington. They will be picked up from there and delivered to children and adults in Ukraine or nearby countries. Many thanks to those who filled a box. Find out more here |
JMA (Junior Misson for All)This is the young people's part of the Mission at home and abroad of the Methodist church. An annual presentation service gives thanks to both collectors and contributors, and awards are given in the form of certificates and badges. Each quarter a magazine called 'Rainbow' is given to each collector, which describes the work of JMA at home and abroad. The JMA promise is "I promise to learn, pray and serve with the world wide church of Jesus Christ."

We offer our thanks for collecting to £52.67 for 2022. We currently have a wide range of ages throughout our thirteen collectors.

History LessonDo you remember these old collecting boxes? Nice aren't they.

We support a number of smaller charities - some over a long period and sometimes for a special short time. These are some of the main longer term charities we are supporting at the moment.
Spare StampsWe collect stamps for the Leprosy Mission. It is hard to believe that a bunch of used stamps can help transform the life of someone affected by leprosy. But the fact is that it can! Over the past 30 years the Leprosy Mission has raised more than £1 million to benefit people affected by leprosy. Find out more here

Ring pullsWe have already sent several small batches off and but in 2019 we have delivered a larger collection. Each ring pull is worth the equivalent to 3p each. The people in the Philippines use them to make jewellery, purses, coasters and alike.
We continue to send packets of rings since our record year to help support the Purple Community Fund. You can purchase a selection of items here Find out more about their international support here. |
